Our Doctor

Dr. Thakkar received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Chicago, Illinois in 2005. He then moved to Boston to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During his senior year of dental school, he was honored to serve the veterans at the VA hospital in Togus, Maine. He graduated from dental school in 2009 and had an opportunity to help the underserved population in the south of Chicago for two years. He finally deiced to move to Texas in 2011 because he fell in love with the warm weather and warm-hearted people of Texas.

Dr. Thakkar has been practicing dentistry for over seven years and is committed to keeping up with the latest advances in modern dentistry. He completes many times the required number of continuing education hours every year. He genuinely believes every patient should be treated as one of his family members. He is passionate about dentistry and loves helping his patients improve their smiles and quality of life. Dr. Thakkar is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Texas Dental Association. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, and son, Yash when he is away from doing dentistry.

Dr. Brandon Tran is a Huston native who loves being able to serve people from all walks of live and enjoy the rich cultural experiences that the city offers. He received his bachelor's degree in Biology from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA where he discovered his deep love for dentistry. In 2018, he moved to Mesa, AZ to attend the Arizona School of Dentistry Oral Health. During his last year of dental school, he extended at five different federally qualified health centers across the nation where he was able to gain tremendous dental experience by serving the undeserved communities. He graduates from dental school with Multiple recognition awards and scholarships and moved back to Texas in order to help serve his fellow Texans.

Learning never stops Dr. Tran. He not only loves to help his patients, but he enjoys spending time learning new techniques and skills. He is passionate about learning from mentor doctors as well as from research articles and continuing of General Dentistry, and the Texas Dental Association. Aside from dentistry, Dr. Tran has passion for cooking, traveling, photography, and meditation.

Dr. "Bob" Mendel is the lead Doctor at Orange Family Dental.

Dr. Bob graduated from Dental school in 1984. and he brings leadership, compassion and empathy to the dental office.

After 38 years of dental practice he wakes up every morning motivated and excited for what each day brings.

He is married with 2 children. His hobbies include bicycle riding, working out and the study of leadership through god'swill.

Dr. Samarh Alkinani graduated from Louisiana State University with her doctorate in dental surgery. She has a passion for creating a comfortable dental experience for her patients. Dr. Alkinani completed a dental mission trip in Srilanka, Pakistan and Turkey in 2020. When she is not doing dentistry, you can find Dr. Alkinani traveling and trying new cuisines!
